U.S. Advisers Call for Universal Health Care, 14 January, 2004 , Health-Reuters


Maggie Fox authored this enlightening article. 18,000 people die every year because they lack health insurance. Federal advisers told the U.S. government to enact universal health care by 2010. Several principles were laid out including the following: Health care coverage should be universal, continuous, affordable to individuals and families and sustainable to society. It should be effective, efficient, safe, timely, patient centered and equitable. Equitable is the big word there because certainly what we have now is not equitable.
